A: It's The Dayton House! Well, as soon as we're finished transforming it into the BEST and most beautiful Airbnb property, it will be!

First, let us just say how excited we are about our new Airbnb business venture. We've owned the Dayton House since 2005 and the only times we've been disappointed while being there was when we had to leave! Each time we went, it just kept on getting better and better. We hope our guests will feel the same way.
It is our hope that The Dayton House will offer everything our guests will want in a vacation rental! We have a dedicated Facebook page to track the renovation progress. LIKE us and take the journey with us!
Second, there is so much to say about the beauty that surrounds the Dayton House; the breath taking views and scenery, farmlands, rolling hills and gorgeous blue skies with huge puffy white clouds. Right from our living room window you can see the Amish in their horse and buggies driving by, clip-clop, clip-clop.
Take a tour of our reconstruction progress. We still have a whole lot of work to do but we're hoping to be ready and open for business in the Spring of 2021! With COVID 19 there has been a shortage of supplies so we'll see.
You might not know it from driving around town but tucked away is so much to do. We'll name a few:

TWO SHORT GALS Two Short Gals in downtown Kittanning, PA is a beautiful store owned by two beautiful women, one of which, Brenda is the wife of our electrician, Scott Davis, so it deserves it's own paragraph! As you will see in the video, you will not only find one-of-a-kind treasures there but also handcrafted items, antiques, furniture, decor, gift items, jewelry, clothing, glassware, food items, skin care, books, linens and so much more! When you go, you'll likely be greeted at the door by Brenda's little and friendly dog, Winston (he's in the video). Be sure to watch the video and LIKE Two Short Gals on Facebook! But that's not all! Check out the quaint beautiful local stores and restaurants in downtown Smicksburg (The Dayton House will be part of this local co-operative in the near future). You can even buy farm fresh dairy, eggs, meat, home grown produce and baked goods. Visit Alma at what we call the Amish pharmacy though it's really a nutrition/supplement store. And let's not forget, Pittsburgh! It is only one hour and ten minutes away!
